Just like the original book, I should have read this much sooner than I actually got around to it. I had already bought the last book in the series (Divined) before I even started this. But after reading the first one I knew I’d have to know how this story finishes out. My plan is to read Divined next on my kindle. Now I can’t take my kindle to work so I’ll be reading something else at work but I will most likely be reading two books at once because now that I’ve finished Forsworn, I definitely feel that urge to pick up the final book in the series. I’m quite glad in a way that I did wait as now I don’t have to wait for the finale. I can just immediately start it. Yay.
Now a lot of times I’ll have issues with a second book in a trilogy. It’s usually full of b.s. drama and wishy washy feelings about their epic love. I found that I didn’t have those issues with this book. Now yes, you could probably call this a bit of a love triangle, but honestly? It didn’t really come across that way. The “rival” Princess Zarae may actually be one of my favorite characters in the series. She’s such a fantastic and well written character. I certainly hope we get to see more of her in Divined. She has a multitude of layers and she’s such fun to read about. I don’t want to spoil much about her but she’s awesome.
I really liked the depth put into the story in this novel. The questions it brings to Clio. Are the deities really telling the truth? Whose side are they on? Are the decisions they are trying to push onto Clio the correct ones? Correct for who exactly? What would happen if she doesn’t follow their will? Is it all just a trick to get her to doubt the deities and destroy her city? I absolutely loved the growth we saw in Clio during this novel. Plus we got a plethora about her mother’s past and Clio’s father. *gasp* I could barely stop reading it.
The pacing of the romance was on point. I really felt it had a realistic feeling based upon the ending of the first book and I couldn’t be happier. Riece was swoon-worthy as per usual and their relationship just feels so…perfect. They fight, they agree, they argue, they forgive. I loved every moment.
We have quite a bit left for the last book in the series. Quite a bit of mess to clean up, a few loose ends to tie together. I cannot wait. Especially after reading the last chapter of this book and the blurb for the next. I allllmost started reading it instead of writing this review but I didn’t want to get too absorbed and not write a review for this one. It is stunning and so fresh and unique from a lot of the YA I see nowadays.

I really enjoyed reading this book.
As soon as I finished, I just had to buy book 3! ☺
Super sequel to a great first book that left me with high expectations for this book. And I was not disappointed! Right from the start you are sucked back into Clio's world, rooting for her every step of the way. I cannot wait for the next book!
Entertaining
Great page turner.
Forsworn is the end book in the Last Oracle series and is as good if not better than the first book, "Sacrificed." The main character, Clio, is learning an growing about her abilities as the last oracle. There are plenty of great reveals in the story and enough left unknown to make the reader want to read the next book.
I loved the first book, Sacrificed, so I was really looking forward to the next book in the series. Let me tell you, I was blown away. The writing is like poetry and flows so effortlessly. The new characters are rich and have depth, bringing even more emotion to the story. The overall story line is exciting and it's a real page turner. I especially loved the tension between Clio and Riece, their tender contention toward each other is just perfection. The imagination and world building that goes into this series is astounding. Each word captivates and there are so many quotable lines. I'm beyond impressed with Ms. Wibberley and her award-winning writing. If this is just the beginning, I can't imagine where else she'll take us. Bravo!
I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, however I have to say that Emily Wibberley outdid herself with this second book!
She put so many little details into her story and then slowly wove them together in a wonderful tapestry that made for a read that I couldn't put down!
I love how she connected the dots between all the parts of the story to create one big picture.
I also love that she surprised me at one point. (No worries, keep reading. I'll be vague as I hate spoilers.) I thought the events in one scene was leading to a particular character taking a certain action and while I wasn't rooting against it necessarily, it would've been too convenient. I was pleasantly surprised when the character took a different course of action.
It seems now that anything could happen in the next book in this series, which makes things exciting!
I'm excited for the next book & eager to read it! I'd recommend this book in a heartbeat to anyone interested in a story line that makes you think!
